Tylney does the Reading Half Marathon

Congratulations to our Head Therapist Lisa Pack who recently completed this year’s Reading Half Marathon in March in support of Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Lisa decided to complete the popular half marathon in aid of MS as her aunt is a sufferer and has been for over seven years.

Multiple Sclerosis is a neurological condition which affects around 100,000 people in the UK alone. It attacks a substance in the body called myelin which helps send messages from the brain to the rest of the body. Without myelin messages will be disturbed, slowed down or won’t get through at all. Once diagnosed, MS stays with the sufferer for life, but treatments are available to help manage the condition.

The Reading Half Marathon took place on Sunday 22nd March and Lisa completed it in a fantastic 2 hours and 23 minutes and has so far raised £420 for the MS Berkshire Therapy Centre.

We are also extremely proud of our Assistant Manager, Ewen Thomas, and Reception Manager, William Moor,  who also completed the race.

Commenting on the race, Lisa said:

“I have seen how MS has affected my aunt over the years so I wanted to do something for the charity and help people around the UK who have also been diagnosed with the condition. I Had very sore knees on Sunday evening but I felt great too. And surprisingly I was sunburnt. There was a fantastic atmosphere and I would do it again."

From everyone here at Tylney Hall Hotel, well done to Lisa, Ewen & Will!
