English Wine Week 2016

I have some great news for all wine connoisseurs! English Wine Week is taking place from the 28th May to the 5th June, a national campaign that aims to raise awareness for English Wine across the country.

At a recent blind tasting in Paris, organised by the Wine and Spirit Trade Association, voted English sparkling wine superior to champagne in two out of three head-to-head tastings. In a third category the 14 experts, all leading authorities in the French restaurant and wine trade, were divided.

We are delighted at Tylney Hall to be taking part in this campaign and sharing with you some exquisite English Wines. Here is a little taster of what we have in store:

  • 2013 Fitzrovia, Sparkling Brut Rosé & 2013/14 Bloomsbury, Sparkling Brut from Ridgeview Wine Estate in East Sussex
  • 2010 Classic Cuvée, Sparkling Brut from Nyetimber in West Sussex
  • 2011 Hindleap, Sparkling Brut Rosé and a 2013 Hindleap, Seyval Blanc, Sparkling Brut from the Bluebell Vineyard Estate in East Sussex
  • 2014 Bacchus, White, 2013 English Rosé, NV Sparkling Vintage Reserve Brut & NV Sparkling Brut Rosé from Chapel Down, Kent

We do hope you will pop in to join us for English Wine Week, which is also being celebrated across all Elite Hotels.
