For anyone considering a career in hospitality, I would definitely recommend speaking with one of our Assistant Managers at Tylney Hall. Their roles are extremely varied on a daily basis and they get involved with all our different departments.
I was recently having a chat with Assistant Managers, Ewen Thomas, Charlie Francis and Henry Evans about their roles at the hotel and this is what they had to say:
“My role as a Junior Assistant Manager is to ensure a focus on the smooth day-to-day operations of Tylney Hall Hotel. A core duty is to guarantee the quality of internal and external service meets or exceeds the standards set by Elite Hotels. Equally ensuring that the hotel is at its best and striving to meet our guests expectations, delivering the finest customer service all of the time. With this role you have to passion and the drive to go the extra mile.”
Charlie Francis - Junior Assistant Manager
“My role as Assistant Manager Food and Beverage involves overseeing and supporting all food and beverage service operations throughout the hotel. Key areas of responsibility include the Oak Room Restaurant, banqueting operations, room service, Library and Conference Bars, lounge service and kitchens.
I ensure that I am accessible throughout the day at the hotel, interacting with guests, staff, suppliers and contractors.
I also ensure that a strong culture of training and development exists within all food and beverage departments by supporting and initiating training courses for career advancement, so that all staff members feel motivated and valued.”

“My job role is simply ‘the jack of all trades, master of none’. I assist with different departments during peak times or when there are issues to resolve. There is also a security aspect to the role, making sure all our staff, guests and grounds are safe. The role can be a creative one as you are always looking at the small details to help make the guest experience better.”
